A. PHILLIP RANDOLPH

Mission/Purpose: To develop programs that will extend democracy to those who have been traditionally disfranchised or discourage from participating in the political system, strengthening political alliances needed to assure democratic social change and projecting social and economic programs that will improve the lives of all Americans.


Amachi Pittsburgh

Mission/Purpose: To empower young minds to overcome the challenges of parental incarceration through mentoring, family support, and community engagement. Amachi Pittsburgh was established in 2003 to respond to the needs of a growing, vulnerable population of children of incarcerated parents, to ultimately help break the cycle of generational incarceration.


Brothers and Sisters Emerging

Mission/Purpose: To develop thriving African American and other youth and their families in Garfield and surrounding at-risk neighborhoods to find and take advantage of opportunities available to them. The B.A.S.E. vision is that through sports, mentoring, advocacy, and other activities, B.A.S.E. will assist with youth and their families to achieve successful educational performance, acquire appropriate social and emotional skills, and attain a solid economic future.


 

 

GATEWAY MEDICAL SOCIETY

Mission/Purpose: To eradicate the disparities in healthcare. The Gateway Medical Society was established in Pittsburgh in 1963, as a component of the National Medical Association.


 

GWEN'S GIRLS

Mission/Purpose: To empower girls and young women to have productive lives through holistic, gender-specific programs, education and experiences.


HILL DISTRICT EDUCATION COUNCIL

Mission/Purpose: To ensure quality and equity in public schools in the Hill District of Pittsburgh, PA and to take action on the very crucial current issues facing public education in the community, including low student achievement, parent involvement, and professional accountability.


 

HERITAGE COMMUNITY INITIATIVES

Mission/Purpose: To enable individuals and organizations to improve health, education, economic strength, and social vitality in their communities.


MACEDONIA FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT CENTER, INC. (MACEDONIA FACE)

Mission/Purpose: To encourage the development of healthy families. Our agency, while a separate 501(c)(3) organization, is the social service outreach of Macedonia Church.


Prevention Point Pittsburgh

Mission/Purpose: To provide health empowerment services to injection drug users.


 

VIBRANT PITTSBURGH

Mission/Purpose: To embrace inclusion, to ensure the Pittsburgh region’s growth by attracting, retaining and elevating a diversity of talent, and to promote the region nationally and internationally as a diverse, welcoming region of opportunities.

Mission/Purpose: to provide quality educational and recreational programs to youth and families living in the Coraopolis community.

Mission/Purpose: To create, promote, and implement strategies and programs that connect plans, policies and people to drive compelling community development opportunities in the Greater Hill District.


 

HOMEWOOD CHILDREN'S VILLAGE

Mission/Purpose: To simultaneously improve the lives of Homewood’s children and to reweave the fabric of the community in which they live.


 

HOPE FOR TOMORROW

Mission/Purpose: To foster a commitment to people that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in the future.


 

WESTERN PA COMMUNITY OF HOPE

Mission/Purpose: To create an environment wherein children, young adults, families, and members of the community are encouraged to make healthy choices that lead to sustainable living.


 

WESTERN PA DIAPER BANK

Mission/Purpose: To bring public awareness of the diaper struggle as a crisis in our region, through partnering with other non-profit agencies, faith-based institutions, and childcare providers; for distribution to families and individuals in need.
