Welcome to the PACE Intensive Services Cohort Information Page

On this page, you will be able to access materials and information to assist in your participation in the Intensive Services Program.

General Information

PACE’s staple programming since 2006, the purpose of the Intensive Services Capacity-Building Program is to develop stronger, more resilient community-based nonprofit organizations to serve the community effectively and meaningfully.

Targeted capacity-building to the areas of the most need is designed to strengthen community-based nonprofit organizations by helping them improve: internal governance and leadership, cultivate strategic community linkages and develop financial and human resources for long-term stability.

Through a competitive selection process, between 8 and 15 organizations are selected annually to participate in a managed program including organizational assessments, one-to-one consulting, peer learning, targeted capacity-building grantmaking, and the promotion of positive and open relationships with funders.

Organizations will participate in a cohort based, capacity building program that will include but not be limited to:

  • Organizational assessments at the beginning of the program year to evaluate current conditions and determine capacity building priorities; and again, at the end of the year to measure organizational change and outcomes
  • Organizational Leadership Team engagement
  • Cohort & Peer Learning Opportunities
  • Targeted Funding to Support a Focused Capacity Building project

Participants in the Intensive Services Program will complete two (2) organizational self-assessments, the POCAT (PACE Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool) and the iCAT (The Impact Capacity Assessment Tool). Assessments are completed at the beginning of the program (pre-assessment) and again at the end of the program (post-assessment). We use the results of your organization’s assessments to inform the project exploration process, measure growth and change during the program and identify areas of improvement and/or capacity building support.

Read more about the POCAT HERE and learn more about the iCAT HERE.

Yakety Yak is a definitive and simple presentation format. The total presentation time for each presenting organization is 6 minutes exactly.

PACE uses Yakety Yak as a programmatic tool for the Intensive Services Capacity Building Program. As such, each year the cohort gathers to talk about their organization and share their project, process and progress.

PACE opens this sharing circle to our most important stakeholders, giving everyone an opportunity to learn about the Intensive Services Cohort and the wonderful work you do in our community.

Stay tuned for more information on the 15th Annual Yakety Yak as we progress through the program year.

In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to Brionna Street, Program Coordinator at bstreet@pacepgh.org with questions about the Yakety Yak PowerPoint requirements, etc.
