PACE’s Race Equity Action Cohort
In 2024, PACE launched a Race Equity Action Cohort. Ten nonprofits are involved in advancing their organization’s engagement in racial justice. The cohort is possible with support from The Heinz Endowments and through a partnership with Equity in the Center. The program is for organizations who have already started their journey to racial justice, equity and inclusion–and are fully committed to doing more.
The cohort organizations are working with Equity in the Center’s staff to build their own Race Equity Plan following the Awake to Woke to Work framework. Organizations assessed their progress on key indicators (using the Race Equity Cycle Pulse Check™) and created an action plan to implement changes. The cohort includes three full-cohort meetings and four coaching sessions with Equity in the Center staff. Each organization selected a leadership team of at least four people to guide their organizational process. The program is being facilitated virtually.
